How to autoguide using the STV

1.  Attach camera cables to STV and attach camera into scope to be used as guider.  Connect relay cable from STV
to scope or relay box.  (I believe to use a relay box some jumpers have to be changed inside the STV unit.  These
directions don't deal with that procedure).

2.  Set telescope focal length, aperture and type in the Setup Menu.  (See below)

To set focal length and aperture:
1.  Press "setup"
2.  Press "parameter" several times, or rotate knob to get to "units".
3.  Press "value" button or rotate value knob for "inches" or "cm".
4.  Press "parameter button (or rotate knob) for "focal len(gth)".
5.  Rotate "value" knob to set focal length in units chosen in step 3.
6.  Press "parameter" to go to "Aperture Diam", and then rotate value knob to show proper aperture.
7.  Press "parammeter" to get to "Telescope".
8.  Choose type from "value" position.  If there is a mirror anywhere in the system choose "reflecter".
Once these parameters have been set up they will stay the same until you change them, even after turning
        the STV off.

3.  Press the "Focus" button twice and adjust the exposure time with the rotary knobs until you can see enough of an
image to focus on it.

4.  Press "Calibrate", and use the "auto" mode.

5.  Press "Calibrate" again, and wait for it to calibrate.  It will say "passed" and give a graphic display.  Sometimes you
may get an "Error: Star" message.  The exposure time may be too short.  Try pressing "calibrate" again and it will
take a longer exposure.

6.  After calibration is done, press the "Track" button.  (Value should be set to "Auto").

7.  Press "Track" again.  You will see a small square with your tracking star in the center, and two lines giving you
a graph of your tracking corrections.

In step 4 you can choose the "Full Menu option" at which point you can set the exposure time, calibration time, which
relays you want active, and a "Move" command and "view results."

In step 6 you can use the "Full Menu" option, to set exposure, select star, set aggressiveness of the X and Y axis.
Sometimes you need to select the guide star, because the STV may select one too near the edge (try to get the
guide star near the center of the screen), or even a double star.  You can also set the aggressiveness from any
value from 0 to 2.  The default is 1.  At "0", it doesn't guide at all, and at "2" it makes twice the correction it
thinks it needs.  This setting can also be changed while guiding, using the rotating knobs.  A very usefull feature.

Press "Track", at which time you can select the guide star by moving the box on the screen with the knobs.

Press "Value" under the "Next" command on the readout and it will start guiding.
